Nick Heard prefers organic farming because it offers a better style of farming which is less pressurised both for farmer and livestock
Nick is also a member of the Countryside Stewardship Scheme which requires certain standards of land management such as maintaining 6 metre borders around each field up to the hedgerow
Although part of an organic feed buying group, Nick also grows Maize and Barley as feed with Barley being grown in the spring.
He feels that organic methods cope better with global warming as the roots of Red Clover grow longer and therefore cope better with drought conditions
